The right brush for clean teeth
To get the best out of brushing your teeth start by looking at the brush you are using. Does it have nice soft bristles that are all nicely aligned?
To direct the brush to where it is needed on the tooth, the bristles need to stand up straight and not be heading in all directions, over the edge of the brush or even curling in circles due to hard use.
This type of damaged brush can be a cause for bleeding on brushing and may even damage the gums and tooth enamel if the brush is used too vigorously. The nylon bristles become tough with extended use and more so if rinsed in hot water at the end of a cleaning session. You need to consider a new brush and say goodbye to your old one at this point.
At Double Diamond Dental Surgery we offer fabulous brushes with ultra soft bristles and can assist in guidance with the correct method for brushing effectively. We sell Swiss brushes that you will love once you have tried one.
